A few years ago, our development company acquired a large piece of land in Freeport, Florida. We have plans for an industrial park on 24 acres and 15 residential units on 7 acres. On the remaining acres which are zoned industrial, there is a large home and horse stable which we have listed for sale. Several times over the last year various companies have contacted us to purchase this house for use as a rehabilitation center. Apparently, there is no more perfect spot with the required zoning for a facility such as this. It backs up to the Eglin Air Force reserve and there are many miles of trails for horseback riding, hiking, etc. It is far enough out that it is quiet and somewhat secluded, yet is only 15 minutes from anything. For various reasons these buyers didn’t work out, but it gave us the idea to make it known to other organizations such as yours in case you are looking to open a new facility.
